Here at Pelyn Barn Farm we have farm animals including cows and sheep.
We have 50 cows altogether, but not all of them have names. They are Simmental, Charolais and South Devon breeds. We are very proud of these beautiful animals.
Doris and Grace two of our Simmental Cows, have characters of their own.
The picture of the cow and calf is of Grace. She is a real character and has three daughters and a granddaughter in the herd. This year she had a son!
Doris, who always produces boys, is quiet but a real show off. We can usually get her to cooperate with us and the rest of the cows follow!!
We also have a Limousin Bull. He has a rather handsome name officially known as 'Redgate Ulysses' We call him 'Red'.
Jake is our rather handsome Jacob Ram. He has brown and white markings and lovely curly horns. He is in charge of his girls! We have only a small flock of 15 sheep
for him to keep an eye on. They have had lambs this spring, and vary from totally black to multicoloured!
